In my class I tutor, we have been completing a direct loose floral painting (leaving lots of white paper) using direct brushstrokes, fading out, pencil shavings etc....then when dry pouring on a complimentary background using a tissue to pat off any areas of nice colours on the flowers. My students love this technique and have never seen anything like it before!! Wish I were in the States and could attend a pouring workshop!
