Sunlit Steps

8 x 10 done in plein air at the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY. There is a historic house there and this view was right off the patio and down a hill. I spent a lot of time on this one and am very happy with the way it came out.

French Market

This is a 4 x 6 ink & watercolor done for the Weekend Drawing Event on Wet Canvas. The reference photo was from "jakesgram" and I thank her for the great reference.

Giraffe

This is an ATC (2.5 x 3.5 in) done for my WetCanvas exchange. It was done in ink and watercolors from a reference photo by "artbyjune" on WetCanvas. I was really happy with the way this one came out.

Urchin

This is an ink & watercolor ATC of a sea "urchin" for my alphabet exchange on WetCanvas.

Wisteria Porch

This was done at the local arboretum yesterday. I have to go back and paint the wisteria hanging over the other porch too. This is 4 x 6 done in ink & watercolors.

Camel

This is another ATC (2.5 x 3.5) for my animal exchange. I think he wants a kiss! He seems to be puckering up.

"Rooster"

I am participating in another ATC exchange on WetCanvas, this time involving the alphabet. I plan to do a creature for each letter. Here is my first ink & watercolor that has reached its new owner.

Lakeside Vegetation

7 x 10 ink & watercolor done in plein air at a local lake. It would have been a lovely experience until the gnats found me.

Keene Ranch II

This is the second painting I did from Jeanne Grant's photos of Keene Ranch for the WDE. I loved the orange flowers in this and those rolling hillsides. This is 7 x 10 done in ink and watercolor. Thanks again for the great photos to work from, Jeanne!

Keene Ranch

This was done for the WDE on WetCanvas from a photo supplied by my friend, Jeanne and I thank her for the great image. This was done in watercolors and I added some fine ink lines to make it stand out a bit more.

Country Lane

This is 11 x 15 and was done from a reference photo I had taken upstate near Monroe, NY. I've been working on it for a while, and trying to decide if it needed anything else. Yesterday I darkened the trees to the left of the silo, and I think I'm finally content.

Bolivian Landscape

This 4 x 6 ink & watercolor was done for the WetCanvas Weekend Drawing Event. I used a reference photo supplied by "pincel". Thanks for the great image Liz!

Magnolia Pour

This is my latest flower pour. I worked from the sketch I did for one of my ATCs and made it larger. If you go through the March posts you can see the original version. Pouring is a fun way to work...challenging because you're never quite sure what will happen under all the masking. This is 7 x 11.
