I did this 2.5 x 3.5 ATC from my reference photos from the Saguaro National Park in Arizona. These cacti are just amazing to see in person. The landscape there is so different and beautiful.

About Me
- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Really LOVELY, Joan!! I REALLY love the job you did on the sky and even more so -- that purply blue mountain!!! These contrast beautifully with the greens in the cacti!!! GREAT JOB!
Lin, Thanks so much. I enjoyed doing this one of just a natural setting rather than buildings in a natural setting. I went crazy taking photos of the catci out there! They really excited me, I guess because they are so totally different from what I see here.
Joan, your watercolors are beautiful! Ah, they really evoke the feeling of warm weather..certainly a pleasure to see right now.
I especially love the windows and landscapes from Italy. You certainly need to go back there soon; it looks like you didn't waste a minute.

Ooooh! I love the cacti! What's great about these little paintings is I get to see one or two new ones every day. :-)
