This started out as just a small pen & ink sketch, but sort of grew while I was sitting there at the beach. It's small (5 x 7) and not even on watercolor paper. It's in my sketchbook. I used watercolor paints for the color.
With blonde hair, I am surprised you can stay at the beach so much. I love all your beach art. Looks like that person was blocking your view tho. Tell hubby you need a computer for anniversary. With 3 to celebrate....
I love hosting the scavenger hunts. Right up my alley making weird lists. Makes me keep up with the comments too.
Thanks. The woman was sitting that way staring off at the water. She stayed put for a long time because her daughter was asleep in her stroller, which I didn't put in the picture.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Great sketch, the woman looks so relaxed and lost in the moment!
