This is a "shot-gun" house in New Orleans. It is a 7 x 10 painting done for WetCanvas's Weekend Drawing Event from reference photos that were provided by the hostess. I love the architecture of New Orleans...so proud and lovely. I have such good memories of the trip I took there a few years ago, and it breaks my heart to think of all that the people of New Orleans went through and continue to go through.

I really like the design of this. I also like the solid areas of colour. Its a good'un.
You really did a good job on this. And such a steady hand on that wrought iron.
Ron, I love the architecture in New Orleans. Even these very simple houses have a lovely charm to them. Thanks.
Jeanne, Thanks. I debated if I should use an ink pen to do the wrought iron, but decided to do it all in wc. I had to draw out all the curves so I wouldn't screw it up.
Very nice, indeed, Joan. You've done a beautiful job on those curtains. You must be pleased with this one!
Thanks, Robyn. I'm really happy with how this one came out.
Hello, I followed you here from WC (I am wischris) and am enjoying your blog. I chose this picture too though I haven't had time to work on it yet. It is just so pretty and homey looking. Your's looks great!
Christine, I hope I get to see your version. This reminded me so much of the New Orleans I remember. My heart goes out to the many people there that still haven't been able to totally get their lives back together.
