Shaded
This is the time of year I get to try my hand at painting lots of people at the beach. Since I spend so much time at the beach in the summer there are constant unknowing models to pick from. This is 4 x 6. I couldn't resist this little girl with her big floppy hat and those big red sunglasses. I just kept hoping she would stay there long enough for me to finish painting.

Oh, beach images of children are irresistable, aren't they? Very nice!
Oh Joan!!! you did an OUTSTANDING job on her -- I LOVE the shade of her hat -- it's perfect -- but then so is she -- I SO envy you your ability to do people --- !!!!
Susan - Thanks so much. Kid's are such great subjects.
Lin - Thanks. That hat and her glasses were what captured my attention. Luckily it didn't really matter if it looked much like her since I didn't know her.
Hi Joan, followed you from Helen's blog. Just had to comment on this delightful painting. Love her hat and glasses, just the icing on the cake!!! Wonderful painting.
Shez - Thank you for stopping by and checking out my work. Glad you like this.
This one is just so cute! I'm glad she stayed still for you.
This is so delightful. Pls. do more of children painting, especially children at the beach.
Mickey - I'm shocked that she stayed put so long. Thanks.
Ai - Thank you. I do a lot of small paintings at the beach and a lot of them are of children.
This is outstanding, Joan. Takes me back to being a child on the beach myself - I think I had almost the same hat and glasses. What you left out was the huge wave that came up behind me and set back by swimming career for decades!
