These two women caught my eye at the beach the other day, so I pulled out my 4 x 6 little pad and my small paint set to capture them. Later when they came back to the blanket in front of me, I noticed that the one on the left was pregnant (I couldn't see her tummy from where I was painting her) and found out that they were mother and daughter. I should have called it "Three Generations."

boy...you're becoming an expert at this type of portrait! colors and perspective are spot on..and of COURSE I love the beach scene!!
Lovely little painting. You've captured the overall feeling very well here, good proportions with the figures, and nice texture to the sand. Well done!!
I don't know how you do it on such small paper, but this is terrific! Good job on the figures.
You do people so well, Joan!! I love that bit of shadow on the skin ... the perspective and view -- and the sunny cheerfulness of this captured scene!!! I hope you've had a great w/e!
Holly - Thanks. You never know what you can find at the beach.
Shez - I figure if I practice people on the beach figures will come easier to me. Thank you.
Mickey - Thanks. I like working on the small papers now after doing so many.
Lin - Doing the people at the beach is fun...and good practice. Thanks.
Really nice. I like the perspective and that they are looking out to the water.
Jeanne - Thanks. It's fun to do beach portraits.
Beautiful painting!!!

I love your little gem painting. Yes, life is full of surprises. What a wonderful day for them to get to share their days and you get to record it.
