Amboise Window

This is another ATC for my Windows Exchange. I used a reference photo I took in Amboise, France for this. It is 2.5 x 3.5 done in watercolors and ink.

Henry's Louisiana Grill

I started this painting in plein air when I was down in Georgia a few weeks ago. I had to finish it at home. It was just too sunny and warm to do the large coke sign and the window without hard edges and streaks in the middle of what I was doing. That's one of the drawbacks about plein air painting. This is 7 x 10.

Tuscan Window

Are you tired of windows yet? lol This is another one that I did for the Windows Exchange on WetCanvas. It is 2.5 x 3.5 done in watercolors and ink from my own reference.

Rousillon Window

This is ATC sized (2.5 x 3.5) and done in watercolors and ink. It was one of the references I provided for the WDE that I hosted on WetCanvas.

Many thanks for your prayers and thoughts for my MIL. The surgery is over and she is doing really well.

Venetian Mime

I've had a crazy weekend. My MIL was in the hospital and is having surgery today, and in the midst of that I hosted the WDE on WetCanvas. This was done for the WDE from one of my reference photos taken in Venice a few years ago. It is 7 x 10.

One Blue Shutter

Here is another window for my exchange. The referece for this was a photo I took in a small town outside of Deusseldorf, Germany. It was done in watercolors and ink. It is ATC sized (2.5 x 3.5).

Mulberry Window

Here is another of my windows for the exchange. This was painted from a reference photo I had taken in NYC recently. I don't know what the store was selling, bu I loved that horse in the window. This is 2.5 x 3.5 done in watercolors and ink.

Open Window

I am working on two exchanges on WetCanvas. This one is for the "Widows" Exhange. I've always wanted to do a series of windows, so now I'm getting my chance. I'll post each one as it is received by it's new owner. This is ATC sized (2.5 x 3.5), done in watercolors and ink, and from my own reference photo taken in Provence last year.

The Water's Edge

This was a 4 x 6 piece I did for the "Warm Weather" Exchange on WetCanvas. I didn't do it in plein air, but I used a sketch that I had done in plein air last summer as a reference for this.

White Water

This was also one of the references from Tim for the WDE on WetCanvas. The painting is 3 x 3.5 done in watercolors and ink. I've gone white water rafting and can just imagine what was going through his mind. lol

Karate Kick

This is 4 x 6 and was done for the Weekend Drawing Event on WetCanvas. The photo was supplied by "upnorthtim." Many thanks to Tim for his great photos.

Lunch on the Patio

This is 4 x 6 and done in watercolors and ink from part of a photo I had taken in Cassis, France last year. This was done for the Wet Canvas "Warm Weather" Exchange.

Flower Stand

This was painted on the north fork of Long Island. It is a small flower stand tucked in along a road filled with wineries and farmland. This is 4 x 6 and was painted from the front seat of my car. I've learned that it is safer to paint from the car there, than to sit in a chair out in the open. There are too many trucks speeding along the road.

Barnsley Ruins

This is another 4 x 6 watercolor and ink that I painted at Barnsey Gardens in Georgia this week. The ruins are of the manor house which was destroyed by a hurricane that ripped the roof off of the building. Inside you can still see the layout of the rooms and get some hint of the beauty of the original structure.

Barnsley Fountain

I painted this the other day at Barnsley Gardens which is about an hour from my brother's house. The fountain stands in front of the ruins of the Barnsley Manor House. The property is really lovely and a fun place to paint. This is 4 x 6 done in watercolors and ink.

Kennesaw Square

I am presently visiting my brother in Kennesaw, Georgia for a few days. This was painted in a local square. It is nice to see the trees and flowers blooming everywhere. This is 4 x 6.

Hay Bale

This is another painting I did for the WDE on WetCanvas. The reference was from "sundiver." This is 4 x 6 done in watercolor and ink. I move the hay from where it was in the original reference photo so it wasn't right in the center blocking the view of the door of the shed.

I may be a bit scarce posting over the next week. I am driving down to Georgia tomorrow to visit family for a few days. I hope to be able to at least visit my favorite blogs, but I don't know if I'll be able to post paintings while I'm gone. We shall see...

Floppy Ears

The poor bunny is a day late for Easter, but the thought was there. This was done for the WDE from a photo reference by "sundiver." Thanks Wendy! This is about 4 x 5 and done in watercolors, inktense pencils, and toches of ink. Hope your Easter was great!

Lighthouse in the Dunes

I painted this yesterday in plein air at Robert Moses State Park. It is about 3.5 x 5 done in watercolor and ink in my moleskin notebook. It is so nice to have warm weather and be able to sit outdoors again.

"Lunch on the Patio"

This is 4 x 6 done in watercolors and ink from a reference photo I took in Cassis, France. It was done for an exchange I'm doing with the theme of "warm weather."

Caliente

This was also done for the WDE on WetCanvas from a reference photo by "123harry". I started this on one piece of watercolor with a pour, only to find out when the pour dried that the paper was damaged and the pigment settled really dark in the damaged spot. I debated if I should just crop it without her feet where the damage was, but what is a flaminco dancer without her feet? I ended up tracing the image onto another paper and starting over. Maybe I'll collage the other one at some point since a collage class is in my future. (Yeah!) This is 7.5 x 11.
