These soldiers are part of my 12 days of December journal. I am off to a very slow start on that. One Christmas I made these decorations for everyone in the family. They stand about 2 1/2 feet tall. I have two.

- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

GREAT JOB!!!!!! And how many of these did you do?! WOW! No snow here just rain -- a bit of warmth (40s) before we dip into the teens ..
Karen has her soldier on one side of her fireplace. She says she needs another one to balance it out. LOL
