Spring Greeting
Last week I managed to do a few paintings in plein air. This watercolor is 6 x 9 and was painted in Westhampton. On the way home from shopping I drove through a few little towns east of me to see if anything caught my eye. When I saw the gazebo, flowers, and trees I knew this was the place to stop.

This is a very pretty on location painting, Joan. I've never been able to bring myself to break out the watercolours away from home. Hopeless! I have got as far as coloured pencils and I have bought portable watercolours. You're a star!
I usually have a few small watercolor blocks, and a small set of watercolors with me. The size usually depends on how much time I really have to paint. I'll do a 4 x 6 if there isn't much time. Watercolor pencils or crayons are good to use too. Both of them I can do with a waterbrush instead of carrying a supply of water. I took a plein aire class with an instructor who never carried water with him. We were painting on a dock in a harbor, and he just reached down with his container and used the water off the dock.
I love the way you depicted the blossom tree in this painting especially...Lovely work!
Thankyou also for adding my blog link to your links list, most appreciated Joan.
