This 3 1/2 x 5 ink & watercolor was done while I was sitting at a table at a lobster pound where I had lunch in Maine. I loved the buoys all clustered together.

- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Now that you have a library of wonderful images are you going to do a bigun?
I'll probably do a "bigun" when I'm trapped in during the winter. Now is my time to paint outdoors as much as possible.
