This 4 x 6 ink & watercolor was done on location at the Rachel Carson Preserve in Kennebunk, Maine. It was a pretty spot, but I ended up with lots of insect bites by the time I finished. Next time I'll have to remember the bug repellent.
I really like the ink and wawakuler. It seems to create possibilities that aren't possible with just watercolour-I think its good territory to explore. You're doing well with your forays, good for you.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

I too love these latest pen and watercolours, Joan. Beautifully sketched and lovely addition of watercolour.
Ron - I like the way ink & wc combine. It is also easier when outdoor because I can do a small painting even if I don't have a lot of time.
Robyn - Thanks. I'm having fun with the ink & wc.
