This 4 x 6 was done on the return ferry to Orient Point after my trip to Maine. People are so cooperative as models on the ferry...they almost always stay put.
Ron, Riding the ferry is like being in a little world. You get to see a bit of everything.
Jeanne, They are sort of trapped for the hour and 20 minutes, and unless they go get a snack to eat, there isn't too far they can go. This couple started out standing by the railing. I took photos of them there and then they sat down. I liked this view of them too.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Living on Vancouver Island, this scene is familiar. We also see the cruise ships on their way to Alaska.
I've never been on a ferry. I guess they stay put as they don't have anywhere to go. good job.
