This is 7 x 10 and was painted on location in Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine. I love the stripes of the canopy of the restaurant and the sails of the boat docked there. A lovely spot!

About Me
- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Linn - Thanks. That was such an unusual boat.
Jeanne - Thanks. This probably took me about 2 hours. I was sitting on the grass across the harbor under a tree in the shade. The shade kept moving and so did I. It was so warm. The next day when I painted in another spot I was in my bathing suit and shorts so I could dip in the water.
Jeez I envy you, I'm gonna have to get motivated.
