This 2.5 x 3.5 ATC was done for the project on WetCanvas. I used parts of several photos I had taken of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia to compose this scene. It is such a beautiful place to visit.
Jo - Thanks. It's a spot you could sit and look at for hours.
Robyn - Thank you. I've been saving copies of the line drawings of these because I'm giving them away. That way I can do larger versions of them if I want. I may do that with this one.
Mickey - Thanks. Did you get any photos when we did the drive coming back from Georgia? Maybe I'll dig out more of these and bring them to Jerry Brommer's workshop in March.
Yes, I have the photos from that verrrrrry loooooong Georgia trip. I don't remember there being any flowers though, just blue hills and green trees. I'll have to find mine too.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

GREAT JOB on this Joan! I love the colors and the composition -- super super!
Lin - Thanks so much for coming over for a visit. I'm glad you like this so much.
Joan, very nice composition and color. Very calm and welcoming.
This is an exquisite little painting, Joan. Have you thought of taking it to a 'big' painting? It has a lot of potential.
Another one of my favorite ATC's. I love the colors and the look of spring.
