Cobbler in the Future
Can you believe that this was done with the exact same colors as the "Regal Rooster" below? This 11 x 14 watercolor was also done for the "Toucan Challenge" on WetCanvas. The reference photo was taken at my favorite farm stand on the north fork of Long Island. I loved all the apple baskets on the tables.

Hi Joan have been looking through your work and i love the bold approach with colour. You tackle subject that I would not but they work well for you. I love your work I will be coming back for more!
There is something so comforting about this painting Joan...homely!
I have made this post a 'starpost' on my blog. ;)
Joan, this is great. I love red almost as much as blue! Nice shadows and different reds on the apples.
Patrick - Thanks so much. I'm glad you roamed through my paintings. I visited your blog and I love your islandscapes!
Anita - I'm truly honored. Thank you so much.
Jo - Thank you. I love the colors that can be found at farmstands. It was fun to try to get so many varieties from just 3 different tube colors.
I love the way you have got the distance thing happening in this one. You seem to have used both perspective and colour to get a really effective look of scale.
I think it is incredible that you only use 3 colors to achieve this charming scene. Kudo to you.
Joan..not only do I love the composition...but the title is right on! I agree with the comfort from this....I can smell the apples and cinnamon cooking right now!
