About Me
- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

It sounds such a romantic place, Fire Island - a place where only artists, musicians and writers should be allowed to live.
I've been a very bad blogger lately, not visiting my friends either. I will try to do better in future.
It does sound romantic... the painting has a romantic look too. Like Robyn, I've been a bad blogger lately too... life sometimes gets in the way doesn't it.
SUPERB Joan! I love seeing that old lighthouse -- it's been ages since I've been on Fire Island! I LOVE the color of your sand dunes - would you mind sharing the paint colors? Wonderful!
Robyn - It is a beautiful place to paint, but I think they allow other people too. lol
Helen - Yes life gets in the way, but I appreciate when you do stop by.
Lin - Thanks Lin. It is a pretty spot. I'll check the paint kit for the colors.
