While I was in Key West I did two ATCs of tropical flowers that were sent to participants in the WetCanvas exchange I've been doing. Flowers are not what I paint very often, but I like the challenge of doing them once in a while.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

These are beautifully soft.
WONDERFUL!!! I PARTICULARLY LOVE THE WHITE CLUSTER -- I FIND KEEPING THOSE WHITES A REAL CHALLENGE!!
Hope it's warmed up a bit for you!
Lin (quirkyartist) - Thank so much for stopping by and commenting on these.
Lin - Thank you. I find saving the whites hard and usually resort to using masking. I didn't bring any on the trip so I had to work at it.
These are great and lively. I love flowers.
Jo - Thanks so much. I wish I had some around now to paint.
I like that white one! There's just something about white flowers that grab me, and you did a great job with this little painting.
