Coneflower I
I recently signed up for another exchange on WetCanvas. This time my theme is going to be "Flowers." I take lots of photos of flowers, but I'm usually not happy with the way I paint them in a large size. So I'm going to practice them small and hope they eventually grow into larger paintings. This is ATC sized (2.5 x 3.5) and is done in watercolors. It has arrived at it's new home, so it is safe to post it here.

Joan -- I LOVE your flowers -- and this echinacea is a perfect example of a beautifully done painting -- rich colors, delicate, painterly petals ... glorious!
Beautiful, Joan! I'm looking forward to this whole series. After your gorgeous sunflowers and now this lovely echinacea I think you are going to have to accept that you are indeed a flower painter. :)
Lin & Robyn - Thank you both so much!!! I've gone through my photos and pulled out so many gorgeous flowers, some of which I can't identify. If I knew the true name that's what I would have called it.
Lovely cone flower, Joan. I'd say you should do more flowers.
