Mary's Hibiscus

I did this 7 x 10 painting back in May. I used the hibiscus plant that I bought for my MIL for Mother's Day. The painting has been sitting in my living room since then while I pondered if I wanted to do anything to the background or leave it white. I think it will stay white.

SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I love the bright pink against those varied greens, Joan! I hope you're keeping cool! It's hit 100F already here!

I like it with the white background. :-)

I like the background, too. This is gorgeous. I love the previous cactus, too. Nice complements in this one.

White is great because it shows off those beautifully rendered leaves.

Just lovely. I agree with what Mickey says. Tell her I said Hi.

Ai - Thank you. These are among my favorite flowers.

Lin - Thanks!!! It hasn't been that warm her yet.

Mickey - I thought about it a while and was really afraid to mess it up. I like it this way too. Thanks.

Jo - Many thanks!!

DD - Thank you so much!

Jeanne - I'll give her your regards. Thanks.

What a beautiful painting. The petals look so soft. I do love the colour of that hibiscus.

Wonderful, Joan. Beautiful botanical study. You should paint more flowers you have a real flair for it.
