Fog Over the Dunes

When I headed out to Smith Point Beach on Sunday it was so foggy you couldn't see the island from the foot of the bridge. I decided to give fog painting a try. This is in my journal and is 3 1/2 x 4.

AABSOLUTELY STUPENDOUS!!! I LOVE the varied greens!!! And Venice -- I am as green with envy as your shrubs!!! LOLOL When do you leave? BTW, I am coming up to LI (pretty sure) the week of Thanksgiving to visit my mom in W. Islip -- will you be around?

I have to agree with Lin; this IS stupendous. Mind if I ask how you handled the fog? Did you do a wash over the area showing the fog? Or did you mute the colors individually? Either way, it is truly beautiful, Joan!

I love it -the several greens give it a soft look! Glad I found your art:)

you handle greens amazingly!!!! This painting is terrific.

Do I have to come out to Long Island to get a lesson in landscapes????

DON'T MAKE ME COME OUT THERE? (or should I say, please make me come out there!)

Lin - Thanks so much!! It would be fun to actually meet you.

Sherry - Thanks! I just muted the colors in the fog area and made it a touch more watery.

Jeannette - Thanks for coming and looking!

Carol - Many thanks!! From what I've seen of your work you don't need any lessons.
