Every corner of Venice is a treat, either lovely colors, flowers, or crumbling buildings. Then there are the gondolas and other boats traveling back and forth. There were so many choices to paint. The bottom painting was done from the other side of the Grand Canal and is of the Hotel Bauer. I only got to see it from the outside.

these are wonderful sketches Joan, such precious memories recorded with love and real passion. I am drooling, I would love to spend a season in Venice catching all the nuances it undoubtably has to offer. Bravo on such lovely work...
Hi Joan
You have a very interesting collection of Venice paintings... they are wonderfully done ... a pleasure to look at ... and a glorious feast of colours to feed the eyes.
I feel your work is evolving and you are on a roll ... you go girl
As always, I'm blown away both by your beautiful artwork and by the beautiful scenes of Venice that you have captured!
How exciting to have spent some time in one place and get so much painting done. Did you travel alone, with a group? I envy your adventure and your beautiful watercolors are indeed a treasure.
FANTASTIC!!!! I love the palette you used -- and how you got all those buildings done so well, Joan is a testament to your talent!! BRAVA!!! Hope you've adjusted to being home .... I'd be so homesick for Italy!! LOL
Fortunately our pleasure in your watercolours will linger on, Joan even though you now have to head home. I will be thinking of you when I attempt at least one sketch at the weekend.
Buon Viaggio and congratulations on your wonderful postcards of Venice.
These are all just spectacular! Great memories of your trip.
Truly wonderful sketches... I love how you capture the feel of a place, love the color too.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. The paintings are wonderful and full of memories for you.
