I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Hi Joan,
Another wonderful plein air sketch. I wish I had your courage to go where ever with or without a painting buddy.
Have a great day,
Joan
FABULOUS, JOAN! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! LOOKS LIKE SPRING IS COMING YOUR WAY!
Joan, your landscapes are always so beautiful!
hellllllooooo Darrrrrrling! *channeling Edna Mode here* I've so missed you and I have so much to catch up on! You never let moss grow do you?
It's great to see spring greens working their way into your art. I love the things you do! Just love them.
Nice job on the Celery Farm painting. We'll have to try it again in late summer when the loosestrife is in bloom.
Joan - Thanks so much. It is fun to go with a buddy, especially my sister.
Lin - Thanks. It really doesn't feel very spring-like today.
Sherry - Thanks so much.
Tee - I've missed you. Thanks.
Mickey - We will definitely go again.
Hi Joan, very nice texture in all vegetation. Lovely reflection too.
A celery farm? Hmmm, I guess I never knew where celery came from! LOL!
I really like this sketch and the limited palette.
