Flowered Staircase
"Flowered Staircase" is a half-sheet watercolor. It was painted from a photo I took in Castellina, in Tuscany. I loved the long staircase and the flower pots going up. But every time I passed by, the lighting was not good. I took the photo anyway, and adjusted the lighting to provide some shadows on the staircase and the wall behind the flower pots.

I think this is my favorite of your Tuscany paintings so far.

I love this one! Can't get over how many watercolours you have done since I last visited, Joan. Fantastic. And I do envy you your forthcoming workshop. Have great fun and I'll look forward to seeing your paintings.
Thanks Mickey & Robyn for coming back to check on what I've added.
Robyn, I envy you being in Tuscany. What inspiration you have there!
Hello Joan, this is Cia! Wow, I haven't heard of you before now, I'm so glad you commented on a picture in my blog so I could come here and visit! I love this one, the Flowered Staircase, so much! I always wanted to go to Tuscany, and have decorated my house in "old world" sort of themes, with murals, faux finishes, etc., so I truly am enjoying your Tuscany paintings!
