"Tuscan Backstreets" is a 15 x30 watercolor done from my reference photos of the small towns we visited in Tuscany. In the early afternoon the streets were empty, and the shops were closed. Shutters often covered the windows while people relaxed inside. In Tuscan towns there are often pots of flowers outside and flowerboxes beneath the windows.
