This 11 x 15 watercolor is of one of the towns along the Cinque Terre in Italy. The church was surrounded by homes, and the nearby hillside was covered with vineyards. Quite a lovely place.

- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Joan - I love the way you attack these little villages. All those buildings and different angles exhaust me. This is lovely. I still have to get to the Cinque Terre!
The Cinque Terre is definitely worth the trip. I wish we had see Portofino while we were at the coast, but couldn't get everywhere in one trip. Thanks for stopping to look. Ciao!
The little village is very nice. I too would have trouble keeping my attention on so many little houses but it turned out beautiful.
