This 11 x 15 painting was done from an old photo of my nephew, Ryan (from California) sledding in front of my sister's house in Maine. He was having a great time doing something he never got to do at home.
I remember seeing this one on WC! Classic sledding moment! I remember my kids bundled up like that, flying down the hill...great fun..you've captured the moment!
Mickey - It's a good thing I write info on the backs of all my photos or I'd never know who is in some of the photos. I never e-mailed it, but I should.
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Classic scene captured, good one!
Tracy - Thanks for enjoying it. It really gives you something to enjoy about winter.
Ron - Thanks. It is a classic scene, but now I'd rather paint it than be there in the cold watching.
Aha! So it's Ryan. Hard to tell when they are bundled up in arctic gear. Did you email the painting to California?
