"Snowy Mailboxes I" and "Snowy Mailboxes II" were done in ink & watercolor from reference photos I took in Maine last winter. Both are ATCs (2.5 x 3.5) that I did for the WetCanvas Fall/Winter Exchange.

About Me
- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

these make a great subject Joan, especially with the seasonal changes...
So LOVELY!!! Great job on those mailbox posts too ---! I am so wishing for snow .. if we're to have raw, wet, ugly weather, then bring on the snow!

What fun snow boxes. the mail boxes in the States are so full of character and you've captured it exaxtly like I remember them wehn we lived there for a while!
