This is 5 x 8 and was also done for the WDE on WetCanvas. I used watercolor and ink for this. I thin the ink helped accent this creature who needed to stand out a bit from the background.
EXCELELENT!!! He looks like he's smiling at us ... maybe because we haven't put him in the pot!! LOL It's about to rain here ... mercy, we seem to go from drought to flood!
Wonderful crab, I do like unusual subjects and it is done very well as usual. I once cooked a whole crab, and will never do it again. I put it into the pot the wrong way and it hung on to the edge for dear life, then as a cruel hungry person I pushed the poor protesting crab into the boiling water...... I hate thinking I could do that even. He was tasty but he squealed so much.........
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.
