This was done for last week's WDE. I combined two reference photos to do this 4 x 6 in ink and watercolor. The peacock was originally standing on a concrete patio, so I moved him to the shore.

- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Our neighbors decided peacocks would be a good idea, they weren't. They squawk...so do the seals on the beach. They sound like someone being murdered, most disconcerting until you figure out what it is. Good pic...
