I have been trying portraits from time to time, with some limited success. This one came out OK...it looks like Skylar, but I don't know how to incorporate her spirit in the painting. This is 5 x 7.

About Me
- Joan
- I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage. Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Very nice, love this portrait, people portraits are very intimidating to me, you did a fantastic job.
You did a great job! Don't be so hard on yourself! I've been told that it's all about the eyes with portraits.
