More Key West Scenes

Here are two more paintings of our Key West Courtyard. The last painting I tried to do with a waterbrush filled with brown ink and water. I wasn't happy with the way the color was working...there wasn't enough of a variation in the tone, so I didn't try that again. I'm happy with the way it looks, it just wasn't what I was going for.

Joan - that first (top left) pen and wash is a beauty!

I know what you mean about using ink in the waterbrush. I find mine cause too much to fall into the middle tones. I'm thinking of just using my pen with the bleeding ink and just water in the brush to get a better range of values. Will have to experiement.

Robyn - Thanks. I looked for a pen with bleeding ink before we left on vacation, but couldn't find one. That would have been more what I was looking for.

Lin - It is a challenge to see what I can capture in a short period of time. Thank you.
