Sunlit Bench

For some reason I was drawn to another strange sized composition. This is 3 1/2 x 10 and was done in plein air at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale, NY. I loved the look of the steps leading up to the bench in the sun.

One imagines sitting in the sun on that bench enjoying the warmth of the sun and the smell of spring flowers. Lovely painting.

This is FANTASTIC!!! I LOVE the size -- like a sliver of beauty ... I'd love to be sitting on that bench! Please send the rain, Joan -- we are so dry!

I Love it, the odd size really makes this pop.

Joan, this is just really beautiful, so serene feeling.

Wendy - Thanks. People came at one point to sit, but I had already started to paint the bench.

Lin - The problem with the size is finding a frame. I try to do easy sizes. lol Thanks.

Jamila - It was funny to do something so narrow. Thank you.

Helen - Glad you like it. Thanks.

Sherry - I was sitting in the shade between 2 trees that sort of framed my view like this. Thanks.

This came out so pretty, and I like the long vertical format.
