Going from yesterday's painting to this is a big change. My husband and I had tickets to a show in Manhattan last night. I've been wanting to paint in Central Park for a long time, so I convinced him that since it was such a gorgeous springlike day, to go into the city early. I sat just outside the entrance to Central Park where all the carriages line up for rides. The horse and carriage directly in front of me kept changing, so this is a bit of a combination of several of them. This is 4 x 6 done in watercolors and ink. Now I want to go back and spend a full day there.

Oooh carriages, what a wonderful way to travel.
Lovely sketch Joan
Oh my! I love this fun painting and wish I was sitting there watching these horse and buggies go by too!
I know I commented on this on WetCanvas, but I really, really love it. And I can't believe that you got all that into a 4x6. :-)
WELL DONE!! It sounds like a wonderful time!! LOVE the carriage ... in all the time I lived in NY -- I never took a ride on one! Did you see a show?
Anita - In all my visits to NYC I've never taken a carraige ride yet. Thanks.
Sherry - I took a lot of photos, so maybe I'll get to do a larger one at some point. Thank you.
Mickey - Thanks. I'm telling you, we HAVE to do a painting day in the city. I loved it.
Lin - Thanks. We saw "Come Fly With Me" a new show done in dance to Frank Sinatra songs. That was the original reason we went into the city.
Okay, maybe for the next Sketchcrawl.
