This was my third painting from last weekend's WDE on WetCanvas. This was the first time I tried painting a white dog...all those shades in the white fur were fun. I did this with inktense pencils. It is about 4 x 5.
I am amazed at your abilities with the inktense pencils. Every single time I've used them, I get such an intense saturation of color. I am thinking I must be way too heavy handed. This is just lovely!
I have always participated in the visual arts including watercolors, drawing and sketching, pen and ink, and photography. Since retiring from teaching I have devoted much of my time to watercolors, sometimes combining them with pen and ink or collage.
Watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the beauty that surrounds us. I love to travel, and sketch and paint wherever I go. Painting, especially on location, captures the spirit and life of the subject. I hope to continue doing that for a long time to come.

Helen - Thanks. I think I should have made the background darker.
Ai - Thanks. Not having pets, doing fur, especially white fur is a challenge.
Sherry - Thank you. I use the inktense pencils very lightly and do another layer if I need to darken them.
GORGEMENTOUS!! FANTASTIC JOB ON THIS CUTE FELLA!
