Flowered Courtyard

This is another painting (4 x 6) that I did in one of the greenhouses at the Planting Fields Arboretum the other day. I felt like I was surrounded by color.

Beautiful work Joan, reminds me of a Janet Walsh painting. Great job.

Wow, that looks like a great place to paint - and it's indoors!!!! Your little landscape is really pretty.

Oh does this remind me of languid summer days, the smell of flowers, warm sunshine and beautiful days! What a grand job you've done!!!

Joan, I love this. I wouldn't have the self-control to leave all your placement of colors alone!! (maybe that is why I end up with so many messes!!) I have really been thinking about doing some flower painting recently in very languid watery washes... and your flower paintings are inspiring me!

What a gorgeous riot of flowers and colors, Joan! The steps make me think that a wonderful casa or hacienda is hidden by the profusion of foliage...of course, a tropical environment. Beautiful work!

Joan - Thank you so much for the compliment!

Mickey - Thanks. It is a nice spot to sit and paint. They even have places to sit.

Lin - Thanks for that poetic comment!

Maggie - Thanks so much. I was tempted to go back in and add more detail in some areas. I'm glad I stopped myself.

Sherry - Thanks. The steps only led to the doorway to the other sections of the greenhouse. lol I think a hacienda would be more exciting.
